Festus Agbons Izevbigie

View Available Art For Lease

Festus Agbons Izevbigie was born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Educated in Benin City with a high school diploma.   He is divinely inspired into the act of straw art making by a friend in 2006. Developed the skills by personal learning and practice.  Today he is a professional straw artist/collector. The use of straw art entails the use of grasses (oven baked) and sawdust. The beauty of this art is in ‘making sense, out of nonsense’.   The artist is engaged in this profession on full time basis and is married with two children.

The words that mean the most in his artmaking are: Craftsmanship - traditional, information, ideas, visions, celebrations, expressions, rhythm, substance, value, revelation, purposeful and intuition.
